NEW - Podzinger Search Box

I've just added the PODZINGER Search Box to the Instant Movie Blog so that you can do text-based search of the podcasts on this site as well as the podcasts around the web. It's pretty slick technology, and a little bit addictive. Once you start searching podcasts by word or subject, you find your self searching and listening and then searching some more. I wrote an article about Podzinger for PC Magazine a few months back -- take a look at it if you want to know more.

MY NYC 48 Hour Film Project Thu 4/27 7:00 pm

The NYC 48 Hour Film Project I’ve been blabbering about (see www.48hourfilm.com ) is on the way. I’m in the competition next weekend and the results will screen on Thursday, April 27 at 7:00 pm at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema,

These screenings fill up, so try to get there early.

The New York event boasts over 40 teams this year, a new record, so it should be a pretty exciting screening. We had our Meet n Greet on Thursday, a mix of veterans and newcomers, all rarin' to go. We each only get one screening this year, unlike previous years when we each got two screenings. But adding more teams adds excitement, so I think it'll be a good competition this year.

Seven days left - to do list

Philadelphia 48 Hour Film Project kicks off in 7 days. I'm putting together my list of things that must get done before kickoff. Here's my list so far (in my own inscrutable shorthand):

• DV tapes
• test camera
• charged batteries
• clear CF card
• list of harmony charts
• list of tags
• sears - wheels & oil
• scout locations - dobbs ferry, parks
• Open laptop diskspace
• buy laptop power jack
• check chinese bus schedules
• cat 5 cable
• Install ulead 3d
• Install particle illusion
• collect past songs, movies

It's really annoying to discover 12 hours into a 48 hour film that you have to do something you could've done earlier, like buy tapes or charge batteries. That's why I make a list; I don't have to wonder whether I've forgotten anything, I KNOW I've forgotten everything!
